Uyghur Medicine
A thousand years of healing
Our purpose
Uyghur medicine is a medical heritage with more than a thousand years of history and a theoretical system of its own. Yet most of that knowledge survives in manuscripts, scattered documents, or purely by word of mouth.
The purpose of this site is to gather that knowledge in one place, in a modern, searchable form that anyone can follow. Every article uses the same structure, which makes searching, comparing and citing straightforward.
Cited sources
The content in the raw remedies section is transcribed from original Uyghur medical documents, preserving the wording of the source material.
Complete structure
Every remedy follows the same structure — origin, form, chemical composition, nature, dosage and warnings.
Cross-linked
From an illness page you can go straight to a matching remedy, and from a remedy to the recipes that contain it.
Safety first
Every remedy that is toxic or requires caution carries a clear warning on its page.
